Reasons Why Digital Media Is Vital

Reasons Why

This section highlights some reasons why you might have in regard to the value of using digital media to impact your congregation and community for the sake of the kingdom.

Why is digital media so important to churches?

Pew Research reports quote, “Majorities of teens report experiencing each of the four positive experiences asked about: feeling more connected to what is going on in their friends’ lives (80%), like they have a place where they can show their creative side (71%), like they have people who can support them through tough times (67%), and that they are more accepted (58%).”

This means that young people who are the future of the church are experiencing their connectedness through social media more than ever. If we don’t capitalize on the use of social media to stay connected with the future generations then we will miss them entirely.

How does using the internet and digital media impactful for our congregation?

Pew Research reports quote, “About a quarter of U.S. adults regularly watch religious services online; 21% use apps or websites to help with reading scripture.”

A good shepherd looks at his flock and sees how they respond to his direction, they also notice when a tool is effective for leading their flock. It is important that we make use of every tool available to us to help disciple the saved and reach the lost.

What impact does a live stream have?

Pew Research reports quote, “20% of all people who watch religious services online, say they watch religion-focused online videos, such as those found on YouTube.”

When utilizing a live stream for your services, those videos are then saved automatically for later use by the congregation or those who find your church online. This allows for people to connect with the same sermon over and over again.
